Other popular dishes are Gazpacho, Tortilla with dishes like Patatas Bravas, Croquettes and popular Curros (a yummy fried dough pastry sticks and are often eaten with a Hot Chocolate for dipping).
Lunch is Spain is usually the main meal of the day with a starter, main course and a dessert. Of course most tourist areas will offer European dishes, Pizzas, Fish & Chips etc.

Mojacar is a quaint resort with superb beaches, restaurants and selection of bars whilst Garrucha with it's recently introduced sandy beach (was rocky) is a lovely spot to catch the rays or pop into a local restaurant for a fresh fish dish. Let's look at the Balearic Islands.
The Balearic islands archipelago are made up of Majorca (Mallorca), Ibiza, Menorca, Formentera and Cabrera located on the western Mediterranean sea near the eastern coast of Spain.
Majorca (Mallorca) is the largest of the Islands and a popular tourist destination. It's a diverse landscape from the mountains, the flat plains and glorious beaches makes it an interesting place to visit. The Capital of Palma is famous for it's fabulous beaches, rich cultural heritage, the delightful old town and the vibrant Mediterranean vibes. Visit the cathedral with it's iconic structures, art museums, trendy shopping venues, restaurants and cafes, the exciting nightlife with it's popular clubs and bars and much more. Other places to see are the Cuevas del Drach (Dragons Cave) just outside Porto Cristo or take a 17 mile trip on the Soller railway. Take a boat trip around the Island or coach trip to some interesting locations and attractions. Weather here is generally good with July and August being the hottest months and January and February being the coolest. Majorca is a very popular destination so it's very busy during the main periods, however if you travel during the quieter months there are less tourists, less queuing giving you more time to explore this fascinating island in the sun. Naturist can enjoy an assortment of nudist beaches, some allowed by the authorities and some (about a dozen) are unofficially regarded as nudist areas. Here's a couple of popular nudist beaches the first of which is located on the south-west coast at Cala Vells with three small coves with a backdrop of pine covered rocks. Between Colonia de Saint Jordi and Sa Rapita lies the fine sandy beach of Es Trenc where nudists gather around the dunes. As there are no hotels behind these dunes it's a great place to meet. A bit further south from Colonia you will find the lovely sandy beach of El Cabo with some secluded sand dunes ideal for topping up your tan. To the North of the island is the nudist beach of Cala Molto which is a bit undeveloped, has a few wooden fishing huts and an old Spanish war bunker. Another hidden gem is Cala des Marmols cove which you can only reach by boat but offers seclusion, but note there are a lack of tourist facilities here. The Bay of Alcudiaboasts the Playas de Muro, one of Majorca's premier naturist hotty, with around 5km of beach. Look out for some Naturist/Nudist boat trips which stop at secluded spots for some nude swimming and perhaps a BBQ on the beach.
Ibiza. This island is well known for it's lively nightlife especially in the south areas of Playa D'en Bossa and Ibiza town with electronic dance music sounding out and as such it attracts large numbers of tourists to the island. Due to the problems this has created the Government and the Spanish Tourist office are working on a more family-friendly tourist island. Ibiza town is alive with iconic clubs, beach parties and bars attracting clubbers from all over the globe. At the opposite end of the scale you have the Old Town which is a UNESCO world heritage site with outstanding views of the Mediterranean sea. Located in Dalt Vila Ibiza's cathedral offers spectacular views, a prominent landmark in the town. Visit a museums and art galleries to explore the history and culture of the island. Paseo Vara de Rey is the main shopping street in Ibiza town where you can shop till you drop in Boutiques, high-end fashion stores, bakeries for some tasty snacks, a variety of small shops and hairdressers and lot's more. Ibiza town is not directly on the beach but is only a few minutes walk to the changing area of Bora Bora or visit La Marina where you can see luxury yachts, enjoy a meal in a restaurant, do some shopping or just sit and relax with a refreshing drink and watch the world go by before the place comes alive at night with it's cosmopolitan feel and the emphasis on entertainment.
Es-Cana, on the east coast of Ibiza on the other-hand has something to suit most everyone. This beach resort offers quieter (but not that quiet) holidays than the wilder party parts of the island. Nightlife is less lively but still enjoyable. Es-Cana is home to the world famous Hippy Market which is a comfortable walk from the centre and held every Wednesday and for over 40 years has attracted artists, craft designers and jewelers showcasing their goods making a real authentic atmosphere not to be missed. It's a large market with a huge variety of interesting things to buy or just enjoy the music bands, shows, dancing or wandering around the many stalls offering clothing, hand made tableware, wooden carvings, sunglasses, watches, hats, footwear, designer T-Shirts, leather goods and the list goes on. There's a good selection of places to eat, cafe's, restaurants and street foods to test your tastebuds. Don't miss this vibrant colourful market experience.
At the harbor there's a ferry timetable board and you can catch the ferry to Ibiza town or to Formentera. Ticket prices are good value and represent a great opportunity to go on a day out exploring. Shopping in Es-Cana is varied from it's Mini-markets for the essentials to souvenir shops, bakeries for a real treat, cafes, bars with entertainment and restaurants to keep you fed and watered. Formentera is well worth a visit with white sands and turquoise waters just waiting for you step ashore. Enjoy the quieter island with only a few roads leading to the main areas, no airport and no crowds, time to relax and take the calm approach, if you're into doing Yoga on the beach all the better.
Es-Cana / Santa Eulalia is about 40 minutes by private transfer, shared shuttles might be a bit longer depending on airport waiting times and the number of drops en-route. It's about 25km from the airport so you are soon at your resort ready to enjoy your holidays. With a good beach and watersports, great shopping, ferry/coach trips, markets, restaurants/cafes, bars with entertainment and a host of accommodations in a quieter but not that quiet location it's got to be worth a visit.
Close to Playe d'en Bosa is popular official nudist beach of Es Cavallet . There's a gay part and a straight part so look for the signs past the two restaurants. There are some great views from here and the opportunity to go Snorkelling. Please note the Dunes here are protected and walking is not permitted.
Menorca (Minorca) : This island is rich in history, enjoys magnificent scenery and beaches of white and golden sands and although not without some nightlife it's a more tranquil laid-back relaxed island. Ideally suited for families with children Menorca is more relaxed than Ibiza or Majorca and supports a more peaceful atmosphere making holidays here a bit more relaxed and stress free. Beaches here have soft sands , some with shallow waters, lifeguards and useful facilities like toilets and beach showers and of course some family friendly water sports. Away from the beaches there are places of interest to visit like a visit to the Natural Park, historical sites, the caves of Cala Morell necropolis or maybe a visit to the Zoo which the kids will love! If you don't want to drive the bus network is very good and connects you with the main towns and beaches.
There are certain drinks rules on Menorca, at the time of writing if you stay at an all-inclusive hotel you are allowed 6 alcoholic drinks per day, that's 3 at lunch and 3 with your evening meal. Soft drinks are not restricted, however you can buy additional alcoholic drinks. Shopping here is much the same as any other tourist destination with a variety of gift shops, clothing, jewelry and so on. There are different market days around the island so it's best to check out the area you are visiting. Some are seasonal whilst other are all year round.
Visit Es Grau, the largest unofficial nudist beach on Menorca with a sweeping bay. Other nudist beaches include those at Son Bou, great little spot at the western end and highly popular with Naturists, or Cala Pilar, a small golden sandy beach with lovely waters,. It's a bit off the beaten track so it's not good it's not recommended for children or anyone with walking problems plus there are no tourist facilities there so you will need to carry all your 'need to haves' with you, not forgetting plenty of drinks of water. Take a look at some of our holiday accessories with this link
To some sum up, Menorca offers a family friendly experience on a quieter island but not totally boring! Great beaches, plenty to see and do with the little ones and a good place to relax and enjoy family time. Not just for families, singles, couples and Naturists will have a great time too!
Canary Islands.
The Canary Islands consist of 8 islands which lie off the coast of North Western Africa .

Let's start with Tenerife, the largest island and the most populated of the Canaries and a massive tourist destination with visitors from all corners of the globe. Playa de las Americas is a highly popular tourist destination with a very lively nightlife and sandy beaches to relax on after a busy night. This south-west resort was purpose built in the 60s for the tourist trade and as such has all the facilities to cater for a busy and vibrant resort. The beaches here were man-made using imported sand mostly from the western Sahara in Africa, the reason being the natural sand was dark volcanic sand and they thought it better to have an appealing to tourists to have golden sand. 'The Strip' known as Veronicas is the hub of the nightlife along with other areas packed with nightclubs, bars and restaurants so your never short of places to eat and drink. There's plenty to keep you occupied and some interesting day trips to nearby attractions the likes of Teide National Park (Mt Teide), El Medano for a spot of windsurfing or Los Gigantes know as The Cliffs of the Giants.
